This dining room was reinvented by removing old brass fixtures, arched cabinet doors and a rectangular table that disrupted the room’s geometry. The arched doors were removed to create accent niches, and lower doors were removed to install wine racks below. Between the recessed niches is a rustic wood wall that serves as a backdrop to a custom made sideboard. The wall is antique barn wood boards that were hand-painted by the designer with a multi-layer staining and glazing technique.

The existing rectangular table was replaced with a round pedestal version in walnut with heavy distressing that seats eight. Seats are two-toned upholstery the match the great room just across the foyer. Inside seat and back are embroidered textures while back and sides are velvet. Chandelier is round with matching walls sconces added to create mood lighting. Rug is custom edge-banded sisal.
